About me

My name is Amanda. I'm from the Netherlands, but moved to France in September 2012. I've been an avid reader since I was a child. When I'm not reading, I'm often expressing my creativity in writing, drawing or colouring. Nature is calming to me, so I enjoy taking walks along the canal close to my home. I've been struggling with my mental health since childhood, but I didn't realise I needed help until I was 30 years old. A book helped me with that: How to Forget, by Kate Mulgrew.

The stigma on mental health is crushing our ability to step up and ask for help when needed. Mental health should be a topic we can talk about as easily as we do about the weather or some physical issues.

In October 2022 I decided to go out of my comfort zone to try something completely different: Brain Education with Danielle Gaudette. Please have a look at the Resources to find out what has been so effective for me.
